Qualifications

  • Essential knowledge in Mechanical & Electrical services operations, BMS systems, UPS, Generators, and Communications Rooms.
  • Desirable knowledge in 18th Edition IEE regs and HV Trained.
  • Strong aptitude for self-initiative, integrity, ownership, organization, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and act as an appointed Authorized Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding.

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Critical Services Shift Technician to join our team in London.

The Critical Services Shift Technician will support a major refurbishment of our client's EMEA headquarters in Canary Wharf, playing a vital role during the commissioning process and building mobilization.

This project features cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and modern workspaces. The role follows a 4 on 4 off day shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Qualify and act as an appointed Authorized Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding.
  2. Maintain up-to-date logs of work completed and outstanding items.
  3. Complete shift logs and share with the team.
  4. Ensure contractor and staff compliance with safety and security standards.
  5. Participate in critical services training programs.
  6. Maintain effective communication with clients and management.
  7. Monitor contractors and complete related documentation.
  8. Perform fire safety isolations (fire alarm and sprinkler systems).
  9. Attend installation, commissioning, and fit-out events to ensure compliance.
  10. Work collaboratively with other technicians to resolve operational issues.
  11. Provide holiday, training, and sickness cover for team members.
  12. Track and complete Planned Preventative Maintenance and assess equipment condition.
  13. Log and respond to out-of-line situations with incident reports.
  14. Follow procedures to solve straightforward problems with limited discretion.
  15. Deliver tasks as per defined procedures under supervision.
Requirements
Skills

Essential: Faultfinding skills, electrical (City & Guilds or HNC), administrative skills, computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication, and procedure writing.

Desirable: Apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Installation, report writing.

Knowledge

Essential: Mechanical & Electrical services operation, BMS systems, knowledge of UPS, Generators, and Communications Rooms.

Desirable: 18th Edition IEE regs, HV Trained.

Aptitude

Self-initiative, integrity, ownership, organization, communication skills, customer focus, professionalism, energy, and decision-making ability.

Cirumstances

Standard hours 0800-1700, Mon-Fri, with out-of-hours accessibility and flexibility required.

Core Competencies

Customer focus, relationship building, responsiveness, communication, and analytical skills. Results-driven is desirable.
