The Role
The CRS Critical Facilities Data Center Site Governance Lead is a key member of the CRS Critical Facility Governance of Data Center Operations. The position will be a site governance lead and will have the oversight and direct review into the maintenance, operations, key settings, and vendor reporting for all site activity as it relates to critical equipment.
The Position will provide subject matter expertise and engineering lead support to for the delivery and operation of critical data centers plus other critical facilities regionally. This role is a central resource for Critical Systems Engineering and Critical Facilities Management, providing:
- Governance (Audit and Risk Control)– Conduct Reviews, Inspections, Audits, and overall governance to all critical equipment operations and maintenance to ensure that compliance and incident reporting is aligned with Citi guidelines, processes, and procedures
- Design and Construction – As Data Center Projects continue to be implemented, this Governance Lead will ensure that the D&C requirements are being met during projects and that operational overlap coordinated to prevent outages or impacts
- Operations- The site Governance Lead will ensure that operations are aligned with Citi goals, criticality of the data centers, and uptime requirements.
- Change Management – Provide engineering support to ensure thorough review and approval of all critical operational and construction activities in critical facilities
Excellent communications, advanced written and verbal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to relate to peers and senior management in a professional manner. As well as excellent communication skills, exemplary diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
What you will be doing
- Conduct proactive and pre-emptive critical system reviews of logs, PPM’s, vendor reports, incidents, alarms, etc. to ensure operations is in compliance with Citi requirements
- Take ownership stake for the open critical systems environments audit issues, resolve through coordination with operational staff and critical systems operations, incident, and D&C teams
- Review existing policies, standards, and procedures for Design & Construction (D&C) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M), operations, change management, and incident response to ensure effectiveness and adequacy
- Utilize global policies and documentation in responding to internal and external audits of critical systems environments, participate in the audit process
- Review, Walk, and approval of all Data Center Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP’s) and Oversee use of change control procedure for critical systems invasive maintenance and changes to ensure proper business level and CTI coordination is met, coordinate with other non-facilities changes and events in critical environments
- Work with the global team to develop metrics on maintenance durations and outages to review comparable operations and ensure windows are adequately scheduled
- Participate in technical response team to provide 24/7 remote support of all complex situations and outages
- Develop and manage the regional process for preliminary, ongoing, and final incident reports, post mortems, CAP plans, and audit grade documentation. Identify root cause and share failure analysis across teams to ensure similar conditions are proactively addressed
- Assist in the ongoing development of global change control procedure for critical systems invasive maintenance and changes to ensure proper business level and Citi Technology Infrastructure (CTI) coordination is met
What we need from you
- 5-days per week on-site requirement and on-call availability
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant, diverse professional experience managing engineering and operational management of mission critical facilities within a financial services or large corporate environment
- A degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical Building Services or associated engineering discipline
- Clear technical understanding of Critical Facilities operations and excellence
- Experience in management of internal and external technical resources
- Significant experience in identifying facility requirements, opportunities, and trends in emerging technology
- Excellent communications, advanced written and verbal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to relate to peers and senior management in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills: an ambitious, enthusiastic, conscientious, and confident professional with all-around best-in-class leadership and management skills, with an ability to negotiate, influence, and motivate
- A reputation for excellence in this field coupled with a down-to earth pragmatism and collaborative style to which colleagues and customers respond well
