Job description

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Band 5 nurses to deliver exceptional care to our complex patient population. If you are motivated to learn, develop new skills, and possess strong communication and assessment abilities, this challenging Critical Care opportunity may be ideal for you.

Adult Critical Care Units
  1. Adult Intensive Care (AICU QMC): A 29-bed unit caring for critically ill patients with organ failure, including specialties such as neurosurgery, neurology, gastroenterology, respiratory, trauma, hepatobiliary, spinal, vascular, ENT, maxillofacial, general medical, and surgical.
  2. High Dependency Unit (HDU/E12 QMC): A 20-bed area for patients requiring high dependency nursing, with specialties including neurosurgery, neurology, gastroenterology, trauma, hepatobiliary, vascular, spinal, ENT, and maxillofacial surgery.
  3. Critical Care Department (CCD City Campus): A 17-bed purpose-built unit for intensive care and high dependency patients, covering thoracic, burns, haematology, oncology, gastroenterology, renal, upper GI surgery, respiratory, and general medical and surgical cases.

As a Critical Care nurse, you will provide care for critically ill patients with multi-organ failure, requiring various levels of support including mechanical ventilation, sedation, invasive lines, inotropic infusions, and hemofiltration. Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating nursing care promptly, working collaboratively with your team.
