Critical Care Outreach Nurse/Charge Nurse 36 hours - permanent

Are you an experienced Critical Care nurse ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for supporting deteriorating patients and empowering teams through education and clinical leadership?

We are excited to invite applications for a Critical Care Outreach Nurse to join our well-established and forward-thinking team at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for innovative, motivated, and clinically confident nurses who are eager to contribute to service development and patient safety across the Trust.

What We're Looking For:-Registered Nurse with substantial post-registration experience in Critical Care-Completion of a postgraduate course in Critical Care nursing-Strong clinical assessment skills and a passion for improving outcomes for acutely unwell patients-A collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams and supporting ward-based staff

We are dedicated to:

-Ensuring the safe and timely management of deteriorating patients-Supporting early recognition and escalation of care-Providing education and mentorship to clinical teams-Driving quality improvement and innovation in patient care

Main duties of the job

Clinical and Professional Leadership

Participates in multi-professional patient reviews across diverse clinical settings.

Acts as a clinical role model, demonstrating professionalism in attitude, behaviour, and appearance.

Provides situational leadership during urgent and emergency scenarios, coordinating staff and responses.

Offers specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team using advanced clinical skills.

Monitors compliance with Early Warning Scores and responds to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests in adults and paediatrics.

Represents Critical Care Outreach at medical and critical care handovers.

Initiates and leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance staff experience, patient care, and family support.

Ensures patient safety by assessing and addressing risks promptly.

Provides clinical and professional advice to Nurses, Midwives, AHPs, and medical staff regarding patient care and treatment.

Identifies and escalates clinical concerns appropriately and professionally.

Develops key partnerships to influence best practice and supports external review processes.

Acts as a role model and is professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of practice.
