A community mental health service is seeking a Crisis Recovery Worker to provide support to clients with mental health needs and promote social inclusion. The role involves assessing individual situations, delivering emotional guidance, and collaborating with external agencies to assist clients effectively. As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will provide a high quality, recovery-focused service to clients with a range of mental health needs, autistic traits, and other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse. You will promote independence and social inclusion and work in a community-based mental health setting to inspire, engage and motivate people.

Job Title: Crisis Recovery Worker
Hours of work: Varying Hours Available
Service opening hours: 6pm-11pm Monday to Sunday, 365 days a year
Salary: £24,000 with progression up to £26,500 per annum pro rata

Tunbridge Wells service provides a crisis alternative to A&E through non-clinical, person-centered support and recovery interventions. About the role: As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will provide a high quality, recovery-focused service to clients with mental health and autistic traits and other support needs, promoting independence and social inclusion. The role includes one-to-one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, signposting and engaging people in other provision. You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and Clinicians to achieve the best person-centered care for recovery, including joint working with other services to support reasonable adjustments. You will be part of a small team in a crisis drop-in centre. This is a non-clinical service, reducing immediate distress for those at risk of self-harm, suicide or trauma. The service provides information, safety planning and signposting for clients, families and carers. You will work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services, and partner agencies.
About you: You will have experience of working with mental health and the ability to inspire and engage people, identify barriers, and understand client needs, with excellent motivational skills. This includes one-to-one engagement and facilitating group activities, signposting and engaging people in mainstream provision. An understanding of working with people with complex needs including mental health, learning, physical and substance misuse is advantageous. Experience in community-based service work and strong communication/interpersonal skills are essential. A full driving license and access to transport are essential. It is desirable to hold a Health and Social Care level 2 or 3 and to be willing to develop further as required.
