Job description
Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join the Crisis at Christmas team as a Women's Pathway coordinator at a hotel. The Women-led Pathway is designed for women experiencing homelessness and is grounded in a psychologically informed approach. Your aim will be to ensure guests have a positive experience, achieve the intended impact, and maintain consistency throughout the duration of the project. You will be the key on-site point of contact for volunteers, case managers, hotel staff and members of our security team, ensuring Crisis at Christmas policies and procedures around volunteering, incident management, safeguarding and guest wellbeing and behaviour are followed. You will support volunteers with issues, difficult conversations and incidents that may arise with hotel guests. You will escalate serious concerns to the Guest Services Manager, Head of Christmas and on-call managers during the Christmas period for guidance on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for volunteers, case managers, hotel staff and security teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Crisis at Christmas policies and procedures on volunteering, incident management, safeguarding and guest wellbeing and behaviour.
  • Support volunteers with issues, challenging conversations and incidents involving guests.
  • Escalate serious concerns or issues to the Guest Services Manager, Head of Christmas and on-call managers during the Christmas period.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing or working intensively in services for women, ideally in a hostel or accommodation environment in homelessness or a related sector.
  • Experience working with and supporting women with multiple and complex needs.
  • A good understanding of the issues faced by women experiencing homelessness.
  • Ability and confidence to use own initiatives to manage risk and make appropriate decisions in complex situations.
  • Experience of holding high-quality briefings and debriefs with multiple audiences.
  • Ability to build and manage effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
Conditions and Hours

To be considered for the role you must be able to be on site at the hotel in London during the Christmas period. This includes working on Bank Holidays and weekends. The role is part-time with shifts from 07:45 to 20:15 (day) and 19:45 to 08:15 (night).

Pay and Benefits

Pay: £20 - £30 per hour. Shifts: 07:45 - 20:15 (day) and 19:45 - 08:15 (night) on site at the hotel. You will be entitled to 2 x 30 minute unpaid breaks during shifts. You will accrue annual leave calculated according to statutory guidelines and paid in your final payslip. Holiday entitlement will be calculated as 12.07% of actual hours worked and equates to approximately £3.80 per hour for bank holidays and £2.40 per hour for non-bank holiday work.
