Job summary

Sunderland College is seeking a Programme Leader & Lecturer of Criminology & Law to support curriculum development and deliver high-quality Criminology and Law teaching at Sunderland Sixth Form. The role welcomes experienced and newly-qualified teachers and emphasizes innovative teaching, learning and assessment practices to ensure positive learner outcomes.

The post is part-time (29.6 hours per week) at Sunderland, with a fixed term contract ending 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

Appropriate degree in Law and/or Criminology.
Minimum Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.
Experience delivering Criminology and Law.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess with inclusive practices.
Collaborative approach and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

Review and develop curriculum with the curriculum manager to ensure high-quality, sequenced learning.
Maintain accurate programme/course data for excellence and improvement.
Develop new programmes of study.
Provide high-quality guidance to support recruitment, retention, achievement and progression with robust tracking.
Lead on delivery of exemplary teaching and learning and assessment.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address attendance, wellbeing and interventions.
