Job Description:

This role offers a Criminology Graduate opportunity focused on gang prevention, restorative practice, mental health, education, and training. It is ideal for Psychology or Criminology graduates interested in criminal justice and probation, based in Dorking.

The position involves working in a challenging school environment with boys who have trauma and mental health needs, starting around May 25, depending on your availability after university. It is suitable for those motivated to work with vulnerable young people at risk of offending, with potential career progression into probation, youth offending teams, or youth counseling.

The role includes supporting students with social-emotional and mental health needs, including those with SEMH, ADHD, Asperger’s, OCD, and Dyslexia. You will focus on recovery from trauma through restorative practices and a holistic learning approach, delivering practical, creative, and vocational subjects that foster joy and societal contribution.

Classes are small, with 6-8 students, and training such as MAPA and ABA will be provided. Compensation is £89+ per day PAYE, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

This Learning Support Assistant position will develop your experience working with students with EHCPs and SEMH needs, emphasizing empathy, pragmatism, and a holistic, therapeutic approach to education. You will help raise academic attainment across various subjects, including vocational areas like computing, hairdressing, PE, and performing arts.

Having university experience in a similar setting will be valuable, and this role offers a rewarding yet challenging career step. For further discussion, contact Ben Mason at 01483 362393.
