Milk Education is offering a rewarding opportunity for individuals to work as Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in an Alternative Provision and Specialist SEN school in Reading. This role is perfect for aspiring Youth Learning Mentors or those looking to build a foundation in Mental Health and SEN education, particularly if you are interested in careers within Youth Justice, Social Care, or Advocacy.

About the Role:
The school’s ethos, “Connect Before Content,” prioritises building meaningful relationships with pupils as the foundation for academic and emotional success. You will support students aged 4-18 who face a range of challenges, including ADHD, ADD, extreme anxiety, and complex social and emotional needs.

Your role will involve:

  • Building trust and rapport with students to support their emotional regulation and academic progress.
  • Using restorative approaches to help students overcome barriers to learning and develop positive behaviours.
  • Working in small classrooms of 4-12 students, tailoring support to their individual needs.
  • Supporting students with personal challenges, including low stress tolerance and severe anxiety.
  • Helping children re-integrate into education and the wider community.
