A well-regarded criminal defence firm based in West London is currently seeking a Criminal Paralegal to join their busy and highly respected team. The role is ideal for a Criminal Paralegal looking to further their experience in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Working as part of a collaborative team, the successful Criminal Paralegal will assist in a full range of criminal defence matters, supporting solicitors and advocates in both magistrates’ and Crown Court cases.

The Criminal Paralegal’s role

The Criminal Paralegal will be involved in case preparation from police station representation through to trial. Responsibilities will include attending police stations, preparing legal documents, liaising with clients and third parties, and managing case files. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced criminal defence lawyers, gaining valuable exposure to complex and high-profile cases.

This is a client-facing role, requiring confident communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment. There is a clear path for progression, and the firm actively supports training and development, including potential routes to qualification for the right individual.

The Criminal Paralegal
  • Must have a Law degree (2:1 or above preferred) or completed the LPC/SQE

  • Prior experience in a criminal law setting is highly desirable

  • Accreditation for Police Station Attendance is an advantage

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
