Job Description:

Bell Cornwall Recruitment is seeking a Criminal Litigation Paralegal for a rapidly growing specialist law firm in Birmingham. The role involves assisting Partners and Associates with a range of commercial and criminal litigation matters, including Insolvency Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Civil Fraud, Tax Litigation, and Regulatory Investigations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending client conferences and conferences with Counsel
  • Drafting letters, formal documents, and defence statements
  • Managing disclosure processes and preparing disclosure requests
  • Having knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Rules
  • Training as an Accredited Police Station Representative and advising clients in police stations
  • Preparing instructions and briefs to Counsel
  • Preparing trial bundles

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 2:1 degree and LPC/BPTC qualifications
  • Good judgment, punctuality, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills, including case management systems and legal research tools
  • Legal research skills and ability to draft legal notes and arguments
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
