Job summary

1000scholars is seeking a Criminal Law Lead to teach, assess and lead Bar Practice modules, including the LLM BAR, and to contribute to criminal law teaching across the School. You will design, set and mark assessments in line with Bar Standards Board requirements and develop engaging teaching materials.

Qualifications

• Professional legal practice experience in England and Wales.
• Significant experience teaching law at postgraduate level (LLM BAR or equivalent).
• Curriculum design at module or programme level.
• Ability to deliver Bar Practice Course elective modules; essential drafting/conferencing/opinion writing or legal research.

Responsibilities

• Teach, assess and lead modules on Bar Practice programmes including the LLM BAR.
• Provide academic leadership through module leadership and School responsibilities.
• Develop Employability opportunities and build relationships with chambers, judiciary and employers.
• Monitor student engagement and provide guidance; support Hertfordshire Law Clinic and pro bono activities.
