Job description

Criminal Justice Worker

Location: Thurrock

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time

Closing Date: 20 Aug 2025

About The Role

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated individual to join our integrated healthcare team, supporting adults involved in the criminal justice system who require help with drug and/or alcohol use.

You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred psychosocial interventions to individuals aged 18 and over, working flexibly across the community.

As a Recovery Worker, you'll take a tailored approach to treatment, using both harm reduction and abstinence-based models depending on each individual's needs. You'll provide specialist advice to magistrates and probation services, supporting the delivery of Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRRs) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATRs).

Working closely with our Criminal Justice Team, you'll manage referrals, conduct assessments, and provide harm reduction advice as part of a holistic package of care. Information sharing, detailed documentation, and strong collaboration will be central to your success.

You'll also build strong, cooperative relationships with partner agencies, helping us to meet performance targets, measure outcomes, and deliver continuity of care.

Flexibility is key in this role, and some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required (with reasonable notice), along with occasional travel to local prisons and partner organisations.

If you're passionate about supporting people to make lasting change and can bring empathy, resilience, and a commitment to quality service delivery we cannot wait to hear from you.
