Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Criminal Justice Peer Support Apprentice to join the Durham and Darlington Liaison and Diversion Team. You will work toward a Level 2 Health and Social Care apprenticeship, learning from experienced practitioners and building skills to support people within criminal justice and community settings.

No prior experience required; the role emphasizes willingness to learn, relationship building, and using lived experience to help others in custody, court, and community

Qualifications

• Driven to help others with lived experience of mental health or social challenges.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive team.
• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support people in the Durham and Darlington Liaison and Diversion Team across custody, court and community settings.
• Engage with individuals to access health, wellbeing and community services with guidance from experienced staff.
• Record information accurately and participate in care planning and risk management.
