Job summary

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust Inclusion service is recruiting to deliver high-quality brief interventions to people within custody suites, prisons and probation. The role focuses on harm reduction, Naloxone training, recovery capital, removing barriers to attendance and collaboration with partners to promote visible recovery among service users in the criminal justice system.

  • Promote visible and contagious recovery to service users within the criminal justice systems.
  • Collaborate with all service users/partner agencies/stakeholders to identify barriers to access for all communities across substance misuse, mental health, wellbeing and primary care services.
  • Create and maintain a local Recovery Assets Register for service users in the criminal justice system.

Job description

Work as an integral part of the service in delivering high quality brief interventions to people within the criminal justice system including Custody Suites, Prisons and Probation.

Main duties of the job
  • Facilitate harm reduction interventions including the delivery of Naloxone training to clients, families and partnershipso Supporting non opiates and non-dependant alcohol who are released from custody
  • Contributing to working collaboratively with people to build their recovery capital and ensuring positive recovery outcomes.
  • Ensuring people have scheduled appointments and remove barriers to attendance.
  • Promoting visible recovery to clients within the criminal justice system
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Ensuring that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
  • Facilitate and oversee initial brief interventions and screening.
  • Keeping up to date and accurate records and documentation.
  • Deliver training to partnership agencies
