About us
A key part of the Home Office, Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for personal gain. Join us, and you’ll be performing a role where you’ll make a difference every day.

About the role
This is a great opportunity to support society by identifying criminal behaviour and enforcing UK legislation.

Every day, you’ll investigate a wide range of immigration criminality, involving tasks such as arresting suspected offenders, obtaining search warrants, conducting interviews, collecting evidence, attending court, and using the Proceeds of Crime Act to strip criminal gangs of their illicit profits. You’ll carry out these tasks with professionalism and confidence, making decisions in challenging situations. You’ll be part of a supportive team and provided with specialist training to succeed in this rewarding role.

About you
Ideal candidates may include Police Detectives, Police Constables, or graduates interested in this sector. Essential is PIP2 accreditation (Professionalising Investigations Programme Level 2). If you don’t have it, we will support you in achieving it.

You should be calm, professional, a clear communicator, assertive, thoughtful, and a good team player. Resilience, adaptability, curiosity, and a strong ethical approach are crucial. A valid UK driving licence is required.

Training & Development
All Home Office employees receive tailored learning opportunities. We will help you achieve PIP2 if needed, bringing you to a level comparable to a police detective constable but in a Criminal Investigator role. Support is always available for challenging training.

Rewards
We offer excellent benefits including a Civil Service Pension with at least 28.97% employer contribution, an in-year reward scheme, 25 days’ annual leave (rising to 30), 8 public holidays plus an additional privilege day, and an Annualised Hours Allowance (AHA) of at least 30%, which can amount to an extra £9,300 annually.

Closing date: 11:55 pm on Wednesday 23 July 2025.
