Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Fraud Investigator for the Department for Work and Pensions in Pontypridd. The role involves leading criminal or financial investigations into serious fraud, coordinating with law enforcement and government partners to disrupt criminal activity.

You will work across agencies, conduct interviews, manage arrests and seizures, and prepare court submissions. Accreditation by the NCA and proven investigative experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in investigations and analysing complex data to tackle organised crime.
• Ability to lead criminal or financial investigations to a successful outcome.
• Strong collaboration with law enforcement agencies and partners across government.

Responsibilities

• Lead criminal or financial investigations into serious fraud against DWP.
• Engage with law enforcement agencies and partners on joint operations.
• Conduct formal briefings with police, prosecutors and courts as required.
• Organise arrests, searches, and seizures in line with warrants and guidance.
• Undertake advanced interviews under caution (PACE).
• Prepare submissions for prosecution, confiscation and civil actions for court.
• Act as Disclosure Officer and manage disclosure schedules.
