Criminal Duty Solicitor – Coventry

Our client, a well-established and respected law firm, is seeking a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join its busy and expanding criminal law team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients at police stations and Magistrates’ Court
  • Act as Duty Solicitor and attend out-of-hours police station callouts
  • Prepare cases for Crown Court, liaising with counsel and clients
  • Handle a full and varied caseload of criminal defence matters
  • Advocate in court across a wide range of criminal proceedings
Requirements
  • 2+ years PQE as a Criminal Duty Solicitor (newly qualified candidates will also be considered)
  • Duty Solicitor Accreditation essential
  • Strong advocacy, communication and case management skills
  • Flexible to travel and work across various office locations and court jurisdictions
  • Sound knowledge of Criminal Law and commitment to professional development
  • Higher Rights of Audience desirable but not essential
