Criminal Defence Solicitor - Salisbury or Melksham

Looking to make a real impact in criminal law? Join a well-established legal team with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality defence services across Wiltshire and Hampshire. We're seeking a motivated solicitor to handle a varied criminal caseload. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible hours, our client are open to shaping the role around the right candidate.

The Role
  • Advising clients on criminal matters, funding options, and case strategy
  • Representing clients at police stations, courts, and detention centres (day and night)
  • Preparing legal documents, statements, and correspondence
  • Liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Reviewing evidence, negotiating outcomes, and managing hearings
  • Ensuring compliance with LAA, SRA, and internal standards
  • Supervising junior staff (if applicable)
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor or ILEX Accredited
  • Duty Solicitor status (or willingness to qualify)
  • Experience managing criminal defence cases
  • Strong advocacy, client care, and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Full UK driving licence
