Eventus Legal seeks an experienced Criminal Paralegal to join a specialist criminal defence practice in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. This full-time, permanent, office-based role offers £30,000 - £35,000 DOE plus 25 days’ leave, pension, training and professional development, and travel expense reimbursement with free parking.

You will manage a varied caseload, including Crown Court matters, with supervision and opportunities to progress your legal career.

Competenze

• Experience in criminal defence practice and familiarity with criminal procedure.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and professionals.

Mansioni

• Progress criminal defence matters from initial instruction to conclusion with supervision.
• Take client instructions and maintain clear, professional communication.
• Review police disclosure, statements, exhibits and body-worn video footage.
• Prepare correspondence, applications, case summaries and instructions to counsel.
• Liaise with police, courts, counsel, experts and other agencies.
• Attend police stations to assist clients where accredited.
• Draft and submit legal aid applications.
• Maintain electronic case records and meet deadlines and directions.
