Criminal Defence Lawyer (NQ upwards) - Motor Crime - Manchester office
We are looking for a lawyer experienced in defending motor crime investigations and prosecutions to join our specialist Regulatory Crime Department based in the Manchester office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team within our multi-award-winning firm. The role is based in the Manchester office and requires regular communication with clients nationally. We have a collaborative, supportive team working in a modern, flexible environment.
We will consider individuals who are experienced in representing clients subject to Police investigations and CPS prosecutions relating to the spectrum of road traffic offences including: Death by Dangerous/Careless driving; causing serious injury by careless driving; careless driving; drink driving; no insurance; speeding etc. Ongoing training and investment will be provided. Those with relevant Prosecution experience would also be of interest to us.
All suitable candidates will be considered at any level of PQE and from NQ Solicitor or Legal Executive backgrounds upwards.

As part of our close-knit team, you would have the opportunity to develop your specialization in Motor Crime, undertaking insurer, corporate, and privately funded matters (we do not undertake legal aid), working on a varied and frequently high-profile caseload. This is your opportunity to practice criminal defence in a truly corporate environment.
Our lawyers provide national coverage for a blend of insurer and corporate-backed clients. You will join a team of 16 fee earners managing cases from early investigative stages (including the Police Station), through enforcement, and to conclusion before the Criminal Courts. Typical cases include Death by Dangerous/Careless driving; causing serious injury by careless driving; and other motoring offences, often involving instructing King's Counsel and working with leading UK experts, ensuring comprehensive defence. Due to the high number of fatalities, proficiency in representing clients before the Coroners Court is also required.
