Job description

This Cambridgeshire-based commercial practice is seeking a Duty Solicitor to join their busy department. Ideally, candidates will have at least 2 years' PQE and an active Duty rota slot.

The role involves a mixed general crime caseload, handling matters at the Police Station, Magistrates Court, and Crown Court, ranging from straightforward summary offences to serious, indictable-only offences. Higher Rights of Audience would be advantageous, with some Crown Court work expected. There is also potential to handle private crime, regulatory matters, police federation, and private prosecution work.

The firm is fully committed to Legal Aid work, maintaining a robust presence in the market despite budget cuts, and offers opportunities for career progression and development.

Salary is experience-dependent, ideally within the £40,000 - £50,000 range, complemented by benefits such as a laptop and mobile, flexible working options, the possibility of remote work, and a bonus for police station attendance.
