Duty Solicitor
Department: Liverpool

Main Purpose of Job:

The prime responsibility of the post is supporting the Department in the provision of advice to the firm’s clients, both fee paying and publicly funded, and undertaking Duty on the Cheshire rota scheme from October 2025. The Candidate will ideally have a client case, but this is not essential. The candidate should also aim for LAA Supervisor status, if not already in place.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Advise clients in all aspects of criminal law from the investigation stage to conclusion of the matter.
Undertake the Cheshire Duty Rota (with support).
Fully prepare Magistrates and Crown Court cases (optional).
Continually promote business development and close working relationships with business contacts, including the firm’s ESG programme.
Provide excellence in client care, in line with the firm’s philosophy “exceptional non-discriminatory professional and personal legal service”.
Promote the firm’s 4 committed principles, as set out in the Office manual.
To promote the firm’s policies as per company documents.
