Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 2–5 years' PQE in criminal, regulatory or enforcement law.
• Experience managing own caseload with appropriate supervision.
• Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills.
• Commercially aware with a practical and solutions-focused approach.

Crime and Regulatory Solicitor – Manchester – Up to £70,000

A respected UK law firm with a strong practice in criminal, regulatory and enforcement law is looking to recruit a Crime and Regulatory Solicitor to join its growing team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in criminal or regulatory work to handle a varied caseload of complex and sensitive matters. You will advise a diverse range of clients, including organisations, businesses and public sector bodies, on investigations, enforcement action and regulatory proceedings.

The Role:

• Manage a varied caseload of criminal, regulatory and enforcement matters


• Advise clients throughout investigations, enforcement proceedings and prosecutions


• Review documentary evidence and assist with complex investigations


• Take witness statements and conduct interviews under caution where appropriate


• Prepare cases for hearings and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including regulators and investigators


• Undertake advocacy in the Magistrates' Court and, where appropriate, the Crown Court


• Advise clients on evidence, engagement with regulators, interviews under caution and plea options


• Develop practical case strategies and provide clear, commercially focused advice


• Manage matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met


• Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex and high-profile matters


• Support and supervise junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals where appropriate


• Develop and maintain strong client relationships


• Contribute to business development, networking and the continued growth of the practice

About You:

• A Qualified Solicitor around 2–5 years' PQE with experience in criminal, regulatory or enforcement law


• Experience managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision


• Confident appearing in the Magistrates' Court; Crown Court advocacy experience would be advantageous


• Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills


• Comfortable handling complex and sensitive matters


• Excellent communication and client relationship skills


• A collaborative approach with an interest in supporting and developing junior colleagues


• Commercially aware with a practical and solutions-focused approach


• Highly organised and able to manage competing deadlines and priorities
