Job summary

Howden’s Credit Risk Solutions team invites you to a 10-week summer internship in London. You will gain hands-on experience supporting transactions for leading financial institutions, with exposure to live deals and client relationships in a fast-paced international setting.

You will learn how credit risk insurance solutions are placed for major banks, research market trends, and draft client materials while building essential commercial and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year university student, on track to achieve a 2:1 or above in any degree subject.
• Interest in finance, global markets and current affairs, with curiosity about how businesses and banks manage risk.
• Strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and working with a wide range of people.
• Numerate, analytical and comfortable working with data to solve problems and identify trends.
• Organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support live transactions, helping place credit risk insurance solutions for major global banks.
• Conduct research into borrowers, industries and market trends to inform lending and risk decisions.
• Assist with drafting contracts, presentations and client materials while learning how transactions are structured and delivered.
• Build relationships with clients and insurers, gaining exposure to meetings and learning how deals are negotiated and executed.
