Our Credit Investment team is looking for someone with experience in credit analysis, preferably focusing on Infrastructure, structured finance, and private corporate debt, to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in credit risk analysis and presenting recommendations in both written and verbal formats. Experience in portfolio monitoring, reporting, and asset management is also required.

This role is suitable for individuals with experience in a bank, insurer, or asset manager's investment function, seeking their next career move within the UK’s leading Insurance, Retirement, and Wealth Management business.

About the job:

This position, within the Chief Investment Office's Credit Investments Team, will focus on portfolio credit risk, assessing individual transactions, and overall governance. The role emphasizes Infrastructure Finance, Structured Finance, and Private Corporate Debt across the UK, Western Europe, and the USA. Responsibilities include shaping UK Life’s investment risk appetite for new asset classes and regions, producing detailed credit reports, providing insights based on observed trends, giving initial feedback on transactions, and reviewing credit and rating assessments.

Skills and experience required:

  • Understanding of credit risk analysis, especially in private assets like Infrastructure, Structured Finance, or Private Corporate Debt.
  • A relevant finance degree, postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA), or equivalent experience, with knowledge of financing and accounting principles.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate across teams and think conceptually to resolve issues.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of summarizing complex concepts for senior stakeholders and managing relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively. Knowledge of regulatory capital requirements and external rating agency methodologies is advantageous.
