Job summary

SMBC Group in London is seeking an Associate for the Perm Credit Business Analyst/Change Management role. You will support the operation and improvement of credit risk systems across EMEA, translating business and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.

The role offers exposure to data quality, control processes and governance, with opportunities to contribute to data analysis, reporting, and process enhancements in a learning-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or evidence of strong analytical capability.
• Strong attention to detail with data, reporting, and deadlines.
• Proficient Excel skills and confidence to learn new systems and data tools.
• Clear communication and collaborative stakeholder support.
• Curiosity, self-motivation and willingness to learn credit risk policies and processes.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Python, Alteryx or similar tools.
• Academic or project experience in business analysis, data, systems, or risk.

Responsibilities

• Support well-controlled changes to EMEA credit risk systems and processes from requirements through testing and implementation.
• Prepare and maintain management information including KRI, KPI, SLA and triggers.
• Support credit control activities by monitoring information and escalating issues.
• Analyze, map and reconcile data to support reporting, design, testing and investigations.
• Maintain governance documentation and procedures.
• Respond to stakeholder enquiries and coordinate with multiple teams on policy and data matters.
• Assist with root cause analysis, remediation tracking and audits.
• Support training and small-scale process improvements under supervision.
• Build knowledge of credit policies and regulatory requirements and support implementation across systems.
