Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advising clients on the impact of changing requirements in provision accounting standards (IFRS9) and Basel credit risk capital requirements (IRB), including model review and validation activities such as:
  2. Technical model development documentation review
  3. Assessment of model performance
  4. Replication testing
  5. Reviewing models against IRB regulatory requirements

The role also involves performing technical analyses for workstreams within IRB, IFRS9, and credit risk modelling engagements, supporting various banking risk-related issues across regions and propositions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a credit risk modelling role within a financial or professional services firm
  • Practical knowledge of credit risk modelling techniques
  • Experience with IRB, IFRS9, and related regulatory credit risk models
  • Comprehensive understanding of model development and validation processes, including data extraction, modular development, UAT, and performance assessment
  • Sectoral experience in developing Retail/Wholesale banking PD/EAD/LGD models
  • Knowledge of credit risk processes, governance, and documentation

Key Skills:

  • Effective communication of risk/finance requirements between functions
  • Programming skills in SAS, R, Python
  • Flexibility and ability to contribute at a senior level across diverse risk engagements
  • Excellent communication, planning, project management, and influencing skills
  • Willingness to work across the UK and internationally as needed
