Job description

We are recruiting a Credit Risk Analyst to join our Credit Services team on a full time basis. The Credit Risk Analyst will play a key role in managing customer credit risk, supporting the credit team through effective credit assessments, account management, and maintaining insurance cover for Pan Macmillan and our third-party business.

You will be responsible for customer data maintenance and resolving queries via our ticketing system. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. You will also be required to deputise for the Team Leader.

This is a varied and challenging position which will involve:

  • Assess and approve new customer account applications, performing credit checks and risk analysis
  • Establish and review credit limits based on financial data, payment history, and risk appetite
  • Manage credit insurance policies for MPIL and our third-party business by submitting and tracking claims and applying for limits.
  • To resolve customer maintenance queries within our service level.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit decisions and bad debt accounts.
  • To support and deputise for the Credit Team leader, and be able to support the team when the team leader is out of the office.
  • Providing excellent service and support, to agreed standards for our customers and publishers, taking ownership of all queries
  • Administering and supporting the customer maintenance function within the team
  • Assisting the team in chasing payments and providing cover for the team

The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least 3 years of credit experience (credit controller or analyst)
  • A relevant Credit qualification (CICM level 3 preferred or QBE)
  • GCSE grades 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with credit checking tools
  • Ability to work independently, but able to support team members.

Hours of work will be 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday based at our offices in Basingstoke.
