Job Description:
We are seeking a Credit Reference Agency Specialist to support a retail bank in a high-profile remediation and transformation initiative. This is an initial 6 month contract which is likely to be extended. Based in central London on a hybrid working basis. The ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in Credit Reference Agency (CRA) reporting and industry regulations, and will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a compliant, best-practice approach across both Retail and Business banking segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of best-practice CRA reporting processes in line with industry standards.
- Review and enhance current CRA processes to ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks, including the Principles of Reciprocity and Reporting of Arrears, Arrangements, and Defaults.
- Develop and deliver CRA design specifications and business requirements documentation.
- Act as a key SME to advise staff and resolve operational queries related to CRA reporting.
- Support the creation and rollout of a new Target Operating Model (TOM) related to CRA activities.
- Contribute expert insight into CRA file validation protocols, data reconciliation processes, and remediation strategies.
- Ensure all CRA reporting processes for newly onboarded and existing customers are updated and accurate as part of the broader remediation program.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Credit Reference Agency reporting within a UK-regulated bank or financial services firm.
- Strong working knowledge of the Principles of Reciprocity and Credit Industry Best Practice.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering regulatory remediation or operational change programs.
- Exceptional understanding of CRA submission and reconciliation processes.
- Skilled in documenting business requirements and process design.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Familiarity with both Retail and SME/Business banking products is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of credit file structures and data submissions to UK CRAs (e.g., Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).
- Able to operate with independence and influence across functions (Ops, Compliance, Technology).

Initial 6 month contract with expectation to be extended.
