Credit Manager – Property Development Finance, Woking

Role Purpose: As a Credit Manager, you will maintain the credit quality of new loans using the Company’s Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risks. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are required.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to sanction limits per the company's sanctioning matrix.
- Assist in developing and recommending loan policies and establishing internal controls.
- Ensure all credit reports comply with policies.
- Report exceptions and suggest mitigants for new business opportunities.
- Identify and recommend improvements for policy and process shortcomings.
- Stay informed on rates, activities, and regulatory issues, and incorporate them into decision-making.
- Maintain risk controls daily.
- Conduct pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors.
- Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum.
- Respond to pricing requests within SLA.
- Review sighting papers and credit reports, providing approval, decline, or alternative terms.
- Address lender questions via website Q&A.
- Coordinate with the deal team to ensure timely loan progression.
- Verify compliance of loan agreements before release.
- Ensure all conditions are met prior to drawdown.
- Attend relevant department meetings to promote credit knowledge.
- Monitor post-deal development loans, including tranche drawdowns and updates.
- Provide redemption figures and loan statements.
- Attend client meetings as appropriate.
- Support and train new relationship staff.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive property development funding credit experience.
- Ability to make informed decisions on new deals.
- Commercial awareness and a broad business perspective.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills both internally and externally.
- Understanding of how credit issues impact the wider business.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and workflow responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Experience in FCA-regulated environments and financial services roles.
- Knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.
