Credit Manager – Property Development Finance, Preston, Lancashire

Role Purpose: As a Credit Manager, you will maintain the credit quality of new loans using the Company’s Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risks. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are required.
Role Responsibilities:
- Adhere to sanction limits per the Company’s sanctioning matrix.
- Assist in developing and recommending loan policies and practices.
- Ensure all credit reports comply with policies and guidelines.
- Report exceptions and suggest mitigants for new business opportunities.
- Identify and recommend improvements for policy, process, and procedures.
- Stay updated on current rates, activities, and regulatory issues.
- Maintain risk controls and conduct pre-application discussions.
- Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum.
- Respond to pricing requests within SLAs.
- Review sighting papers and credit reports, ensuring compliance and clarity.
- Address lender questions via website Q&A.
- Collaborate with the Deal team to ensure timely loan drawdowns.
- Verify loan agreements for compliance before release.
- Ensure all conditions precedent are met before drawdown.
- Attend departmental meetings to promote credit knowledge.
- Monitor post-deal development loans and provide updates.
- Provide redemption figures and loan statements.
- Attend client meetings when appropriate.
- Support and train new staff.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Extensive property development funding credit experience.
- Decisive with good judgment on new deals.
- Commercial awareness and a broad business understanding.
- Strong decision-making and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Experience in FCA-regulated environments and financial services roles.
- Deep knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.
