Credit Controller

Location: Louth

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Benjamin Edwards is recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller for an award-winning and well-established business in Louth. As Credit Controller, you will work alongside the internal finance team to support the continuing growth of the company, whilst playing a vital role in maintaining smooth financial operations.

The role of Credit Controller

* Manage and maintain the company's accounts receivable ledger, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments

* Review customer accounts to ensure they are trading within the credit limits set

* Manage and monitor accounts that are on hold, communicating effectively with customers ensuring efficient debt recovery

* Identify and escalate bad debts within the specified timescales to prevent loss of income

* Send monthly statements to customers

* Confidently liaise with customers to resolve invoice queries

* Proactively contact customers to ensure outstanding debts are paid

* Set up new customer accounts including completing credit checks

* Keep details and notes on customer accounts up to date on various systems

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams

* Responsible for key accounts

* Assist in implementing processes that help to reduce aged debts/debtor days

* Conduct regular credit limit reviews

The ideal candidate for the role of Credit Controller

* Previous experience in a similar role is essential

* Competent knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook

* Excellent communications skills

* Systems literate, experience in using Sage 50
