Your new company

Hays is working exclusively with a very successful business in Shrewsbury, seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team. They are open to both full-time and part-time applicants.

Your new role

You will be part of the finance team, responsible for credit control duties including:

  • Establishing a network of contacts to ensure effective debt chasing using various communication methods
  • Maintaining debtor days to target
  • Handling credit account applications and agreeing on credit terms
  • Monitoring credit limits and terms, taking necessary actions, and reviewing periodically
  • Issuing statements and copies of documents to customers
  • Resolving queries and disputes to facilitate payments
  • Managing POD processes according to SLAs
  • Collaborating with internal departments to maintain strong working relationships
  • Preparing weekly/monthly debt reports for stakeholders
  • Leading the development and improvement of customer account setup and maintenance
  • Auditing account setups for completeness and accuracy
  • Performing ad-hoc duties, including general finance team tasks during busy periods

What you'll need to succeed

Minimum of 2 years credit control experience, effective communication skills, results-driven, proactive, adaptable, with initiative and excellent attention to detail. Good IT skills, including experience with ERP systems and Excel, are essential.
