The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveCredit Controllerto join our finance team in Glasgow on a 6 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s debt recovery processes, ensuring timely payments from clients, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the company’s accounts receivable ledger.
  • Chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Allocate incoming payments accurately to customer accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies or disputes with clients.
  • Work closely with internal teams, to ensure accurate invoicing and credit management.
  • Provide regular reports on aged debt and cash flow forecasting to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities.
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency in credit control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Credit Controller role or similar within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of credit control principles, accounts receivable processes, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in managing financial records.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Experience within the environmental or consultancy sector is desirable but not essential.
