Job summary

Peace Recruitment Group Ltd in Northampton is seeking a Credit Controller on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. You will manage customer accounts, chase outstanding debt, resolve queries and assist with cash allocation and month‑end activity.

You'll work closely with Account Managers, Customer Service and the wider Finance team, handling invoices, payments and reconciliations, with an office‑based role and no travel required.

Job description

I’m currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a well-established business in Northampton on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role sitting within the Finance team, with responsibility for managing customer accounts, chasing outstanding debt, resolving queries and supporting with cash allocation and month-end activity. You’ll work closely with customers, Account Managers, Customer Service and the wider Finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring customer accounts and identifying overdue invoices
• Contacting customers by phone and email to collect outstanding payments
• Resolving invoice, statement and payment queries
• Posting and allocating cash payments
• Assisting with account reconciliations
• Supporting credit checks, trade references and new account set-up
• Supporting month-end reporting
• Escalating problematic accounts where required
• Maintaining accurate customer records and supporting the wider Finance team

You’ll need

The salary is £28,500 to £30,000, with an additional £1,000 retention bonus.

This is predominantly an office-based role in Northampton with no travel required.
