Job summary

Vertu BMW Sunderland is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance Hub. The role focuses on ensuring smooth credit control and accurate accounting processes within the dealership, including support for sales and purchase ledgers, invoicing, and statement handling.

You will participate in monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, daily banking, and cash flow management, with opportunities for progression and training within a large motor retailer.

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Background in accounts preferred but not essential (motor industry advantageous).
• Willingness to work towards required qualifications.
• Experience using Excel and other Microsoft Packages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with credit control, accounting procedures, and sales/purchase ledgers.
• Check invoices, file invoices and statements, and respond to purchase enquiries.
• Assist in monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, daily banking and cashflow.
• Support accounting functions and perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Vertu BMW Sunderland

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a Credit Controller to join our team here at Vertu BMW Sunderland Finance Hub. If you would like to become part of one of the largest Motor Retailers within the UK, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

We are offering a basic salary of £24,784 based on 37.5 hours per week, plus an excellent range of company benefits!

The main purpose of this role is to assist with the seamless operation of the credit control, accounting and financial procedures within the dealership. In particular assisting with sales ledger and purchase ledger duties such as checking invoices, filing invoices and statements as well as dealing with purchase enquiries. Other duties include assistance in production on monthly management accounts, balance street reconciliations, daily banking’s and cashflow, credit control, as well as ad-hoc duties that come up within the accounting functions.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• A background in accounts is preferred but not essential (experience within the motor industry would be advantageous)
• If no experience, it would be ideal for the candidate to be working towards the required qualifications
