Job description

Trial Balance Consulting are thrilled to be working with a thriving, family-owned commercial services business that’s on an exciting growth journey. They’re looking for a confident, motivatedCredit Controllerto join their close-knit finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based at the company’s modern Newton Abbot headquarters, you’ll work directly with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, taking full ownership of aged debt management. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and thrives on building strong relationships while keeping the cash flow on track.

Key responsibilities:

Manage aged debt in line with company credit policies

Perform accurate and timely ledger postings

Act as the first point of contact for sales ledger queries

Maintain and review customer credit limits

Liaise with internal departments and external clients to resolve account issues

Recommend improvements for process efficiency

Make informed decisions through investigation and evaluation

We’re looking for someone with previous credit control experience - ideally from a busy setting like retail, factory, or warehouse. You’ll need strong IT skills, a sharp eye for detail, and excellent communication abilities. The right person will be confident, empathetic, and ready to bring a proactive, problem-solving mindset to the role.
