Credit Controller - Temporary (Potential Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Kirkcaldy (Office-Based)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (1-hour lunch break)
Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Temporary (Could become permanent for the right candidate)

Are you an experienced Credit Controller with strong sales ledger skills? We're working with a well-established and reputable distributor based in Kirkcaldy, who are seeking a reliable and driven individual to join their finance team.

About the Role
This is a full-time, office-based role where you'll play a key part in managing the company's credit control processes and maintaining accurate financial records. It's a fast-paced environment that offers excellent development potential for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update the sales ledger

Process invoices and credit notes

Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies (e.g., shortages, delivery issues)

Allocate receipts to invoices using GP (Great Plains)

Post stock returns and reconcile accounts

Monitor incoming payments and ensure they are allocated correctly

Perform debtor control duties and follow up on overdue accounts

Open new customer accounts and conduct credit checks

Send out customer statements

Support month-end close processes, including Aged Debtor reconciliation

Assist with cashflow forecasting, LTA, and royalties reporting

What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a credit control/sales ledger role

Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a busy setting

High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy

Confident using accounting systems (GP experience preferred)

A team player who is flexible and willing to support other functions when needed

What's in it for You
