Credit Controller
Location: Colwick, Nottingham
Salary: GBP30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am 5:00pm (1–hour lunch)
Friday 8:30am 4:00pm
Start Date: Immediate Office Based

We are representing a thriving business based in Colwick, Nottingham, who are seeking a proactive and commercially–minded Credit Controller to join their close–knit finance team. This is a hands–on role where you'll take ownership of the credit control function and play a key role in managing cash flow and debt recovery.

As the Credit Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing credit risk and evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers
  • Setting and managing credit limits and ensuring compliance with agreed terms
  • Monitoring and forecasting accounts to identify when customers are nearing their credit limit and chasing interim payments as required
  • Chasing overdue invoices, negotiating repayment plans, and managing the debt recovery process
  • Producing aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Liaising with customers to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships
  • Collaborating with internal teams including sales and accounts to ensure smooth processes

Day–to–day tasks include:

  • Processing invoices and reconciling customer accounts
  • Tracking and managing late payments
  • Setting up and maintaining structured repayment plans
  • Initiating legal proceedings for long–outstanding debts when necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with internal credit policies
  • Supporting the finance team with general administration and reporting
  • Analysing past payment trends and making recommendations for improvement
  • Achieving set targets for debt recovery
