Credit Controller

Location: Chelmsford, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Overview

Our client, an international insurer and reinsurer with a presence in 27 countries, is seeking a Credit Controller to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to build a career in a supportive and dynamic environment with excellent development prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of broker accounts and resolve unidentified cash and debt issues
  • Review and reconcile broker statements, clearing unreconciled premiums
  • Identify brokers with high query volumes and implement strategies for resolution
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation in line with documentation standards
  • Analyse process data to identify concerns and propose effective solutions
  • Ensure accurate data capture across all processes to support management information
  • Collaborate with UK and European teams to support the broader credit control function

Candidate Profile

  • Strong attention to detail and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to learning; full training provided
  • Good communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret detailed reports
  • Previous experience in underwriting administration or credit control within the commercial/London insurance market is advantageous
  • Additional language skills are a plus but not essential
