Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join the Finance team in Caerphilly on a hybrid basis. You will manage customer accounts, drive timely payments, and maintain accurate ledgers while liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve queries and improve processes.

The role focuses on reducing aged debt, producing insightful reports, and supporting cash collection targets within a fast-paced, international business environment. Hybrid working arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within B2B Credit Control and Collections.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and handling customer disputes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills to interpret financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Dsenistrate collection activities per Group Credit Policy.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Maintain sales ledger records and perform reconciliations.
• Produce monthly customer statements and support reporting.
• Monitor and reduce overdue debt to meet cash collection targets.
• Build positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes and efficiency.
• Provide timely information to support senior management reporting.

About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Credit Controller to join our friendly Finance team in Caerphilly. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring payments are collected in a timely manner and helping to maintain healthy cash flow across the business. You'll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries, reduce aged debt, and provide valuable reporting that supports business decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Perform collection activities in accordance with DS Smith's Group Credit Policy.

• Maintain accurate sales ledger records and account reconciliations.

• Monitor and reduce overdue debt while supporting the achievement of cash collection targets.

Essential Experience & Skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
