About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join our Transaction Shared Service centre located at our Waterside Head Office in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, you will play a key role in transforming our finance operations as our business grows.

Your responsibilities include managing customer accounts to maximize cash collection, minimize risk, and exceed KPIs, ensuring all debts are collected in line with company policies and payment terms.

We seek a forward-thinking, ambitious individual with a passion for Finance & Credit Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and a desire to improve departmental efficiency.

Opportunities for further development include completing EG Group-sponsored qualifications such as AAT or ACCA.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Proactively collect outstanding debts to meet collection targets
  • Maintain accurate records of collections and payment promises
  • Follow guidance from your team leader to resolve issues
  • Assist with team workload when needed
  • Improve the number of days debts remain overdue
  • Streamline activities by removing non-value-added tasks
  • Manage new customer accounts, including setting credit limits
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Manage your portfolio of accounts to ensure debt collection
  • Escalate issues promptly when appropriate
  • Collaborate with operational teams across the Group
  • Assist managers with ad hoc projects
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in Credit Control/Accounts Receivable (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience with accounting software (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong MS Excel skills (preferred but not essential)
  • Proactive and ambitious attitude
  • Good workload management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Fluency in French or German (preferred but not essential)
