Job summary

Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company is seeking a Credit Control Supervisor in Leeds. You will manage a ledger of customers on credit and cash terms, support the credit manager with reporting and risk assessments, and lead the team to maintain timely collections.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar Credit role in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP(SAP) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting, report writing and summaries.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and plan daily tasks.
• Attention to detail with problem-solving ability and ability to work at pace.
• Experience in a large, results-driven team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular, effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders to review accounts and resolve overdue items.
• Provide regular statements and updates on query resolution and ensure credit reporting aligns with policies.
• Conduct inductions, training and coaching for new staff in the credit team.
• Review held orders and manage risk within authority matrix and timelines.
• Maintain accurate master data records and drive GDPR-compliant processes.

About the role:

To manage a sales area ledger consisting of customers on credit and cash terms, whilst also supporting the credit manager with reporting, risk assessments & staff development.

• Maintain accounts within their agreed credit limit to ensure minimal risk and exposure whilst maximising sales.
• Always striving for best practises / challenging ways of working
• Ensure relevant action is taken by team on overdue debt.
• Identify and raise risk issues to the credit manager, reviewing teams ledgers are working towards continuous improvement.

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintain regular, effective communication, with customers, internal and external to review accounts, resolve overdue items and deductions. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure credit control reporting, procedures and policies accommodate organisational developments and needs.
• Demonstrate sound commercial awareness within the wider team. Provide regular statements and updates on query resolution.
• Conducting Account Manager inductions, and training and coaching for new members of staff.
• Working within own empowerment level to deal effectively with customers queries and claims, keeping relevant query spreadsheets updated.
• Working fast paced to review and assess held orders to manage risk; referring to authority matrix and ensure they are released within the required timescale or where necessary.
• Review and maintain accurate master data records by creating reports and driving compliance within team aligning with GDPR guidelines.
• Ensure accurate notes are maintained on customer record.
• Daily credit management of ledger, ensuring accounts are paid to terms agreed and overdue debt is collected.
• Support Credit manager by reviewing staff ledgers, suggesting improvements and feeding back development/training needs.
• Anticipate potential problems and react quickly to ensure action to minimise risk and exposure to the business. Management of customer payment plans.
• Raising pro-forma invoices for cash with order customers. (nationals only)
• Help Credit Management with development of staff by acting as buddy /trainer for new starters and developing existing staff
• Support Credit Manager with month-end and ad hoc reports; ensuring accuracy of data and they are actioned in a timely basis

Experience and Key Attributes:

• Experience in a similar Credit role.
• Working knowledge of ERP(SAP), 365 Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting, report writing/summaries
• Excellent organisational skills & can prioritise and plan daily tasks without need for referral
• Attention to detail & an aptitude for problem solving with the ability to work at pace, using own initiative
• Have worked in an organisation which is fast paced, demanding and results driven.
• Working as part of a larger team contributing and delivering joint objectives as well as individual
