Job summary

Clyde & Co is seeking a Credit Control Manager to lead the Collections function within the Working Capital team. You will drive invoicing efficiency and deliver effective collections to support monthly working capital targets.

You will lead a team of credit professionals, coaching and guiding them while partnering with Partners, fee earners, clients and finance colleagues across the business. This is a strong opportunity for a seasoned people leader.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a Credit Control or Collections team in professional services.
  • Experience managing multiple staff and performance reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of billing, collections and working capital processes.
  • Experience with 3E, Elite Enterprise or similar systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing Collections team.
  • Manage team performance, coaching, development plans and objectives.
  • Ensure resource planning and leave management.
  • Act as SME for Collections processes and systems.
  • Handle invoice/payment queries from clients and Partners.
  • Produce and analyse collections reporting, KPIs and metrics.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Support Partners in achieving collection and working capital targets.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve aged debt and collection matters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in Order to Cash.

Job description

As Credit Control Manager, you'll lead the Collections function within our Working Capital team and oversee a critical part of the firm's Order to Cash process.

You will be responsible for ensuring invoices are managed efficiently and collections activities are delivered effectively, helping the firm achieve monthly working capital targets.

Leading a team of credit professionals, you will provide coaching, support and direction while partnering closely with Partners, fee earners, clients and finance colleagues across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established people leader who combines strong operational expertise with a continuous improvement mindset.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing Collections team.
  • Managing team performance, coaching, development plans and objectives.
  • Ensuring effective resource planning and leave management across the team.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for Collections processes and systems.
  • Managing invoice and payment related queries from clients, Partners, fee earners and finance colleagues.
  • Producing and analysing collections reporting, KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting Partners and fee earners in achieving collection and working capital targets.
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve aged debt and collection matters.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the Order to Cash lifecycle.
  • Supporting wider Working Capital projects and transformation initiatives.
About You

We're looking for a confident and commercially minded leader with a passion for delivering excellent service and developing high-performing teams.

You’ll Bring
  • Experience managing a Credit Control or Collections team within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven people management experience, including leading larger teams.
  • Strong knowledge of billing, collections and working capital processes.
  • Experience using 3E, Elite Enterprise or a similar practice management system.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at Partner level.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is desirable, as is an accounting qualification.
