Job summary

Investigo is supporting a Credit Control Manager to take ownership of credit control, risk and process development in a high-transaction, consumer-led B2B environment. The role reports to the Financial Controller and manages a small team.

You will own the credit policy, monitor risk, approve limits, and drive improvements across the Order-to-Cash process while building strong internal and external relationships to support prompt payment.

Qualifications

  • Lead, develop and motivate the Credit Control team with succession planning and continuous improvement.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance and resource planning.
  • Manage accounts receivable and collections across a £100m sales ledger.
  • Drive cash collection, reduce overdue debt and optimise working capital.
  • Oversee dispute resolution, debit notes and escalations.
  • Own credit policy and credit risk framework; approve limits within authority.
  • Monitor financial risk, credit insurance and bad debt exposure.
  • Prepare regular reporting on collections, DSO, aged debt and KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate month-end reconciliations and strong internal controls.
  • Oversee Order-to-Cash process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Build relations with Sales, Customer Services, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • Develop relationships with key customers to support prompt payment.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the effective management of accounts receivable and collections across a sales ledger exceeding £100m.
  • Drive cash collection performance, reduce overdue debt and optimise working capital.
  • Oversee the timely resolution of customer disputes, debit notes and escalations.
  • Own the Company's credit policy and credit risk framework.
  • Approve customer credit limits and payment terms within delegated authority.
  • Monitor customer financial risk, credit insurance and bad debt exposure, escalating material risks where appropriate.
  • Prepare and present regular reporting on collections, DSO, aged debt, bad debt and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles, ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations, month-end reporting and robust financial controls across the Order-to-Cash process.
  • Oversee the efficient operation and continuous improvement of the Order-to-Cash process, including credit control, customer invoicing, cash allocation and related activities where applicable.
  • Lead system enhancements, process improvements and finance transformation initiatives impacting the function.
  • Build strong relationships with Sales, Customer Services, Supply Chain and Finance to balance commercial growth with effective credit risk management.
  • Develop effective relationships with key customers to support prompt payment and successful dispute resolution.
