Job description

To be responsible, as a member of the private care administration team for the Private Care billing function, ensuring that it achieves its goals and objectives. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of patients' invoices through close collaboration with various stakeholders of the organisation.

The post holder will liaise with consultants, private medical secretaries, and the admissions coordinator to access patient notes and records, ensuring accurate billing information is supplied promptly.

Responsibilities include preparing bills and invoices for private patients, familiarising with medical insurance contracts and tariffs, using Compucare to electronically send bills, and correcting failed bills by investigating and rectifying issues.

Provide excellent billing service to private patients, collecting payments and documentation at admission, and explaining charges to ensure patient understanding.

Support credit control by contacting patients, insurers, and embassies to settle debts, and handle billing queries from patients, insurers, and consultants via the dedicated mailbox.

Review the Compucare system to identify unbilled procedures, analyse bills including procedures, consultants, anaesthetists, hospital fees, drugs, and dressings, and process credit notes and write-offs.

Address queries from staff and patients, resolve billing errors, and investigate patterns to improve processes.

Identify issues in patient notes or booking forms, raising queries with practice managers or consultants as needed.

Adhere to quality standards and deadlines, undertake relevant training, and investigate Healthcode failures.

Perform general office duties and support other areas as required.
