Job Opportunity: Credit Analyst

Salary: £200 – £230 per day
Cer Financial is working with a bank based in the City of London to find a skilled Credit Analyst for a contract role.
Responsibilities of a Credit Analyst:
- Analyze deals and customers from a credit perspective for applications mainly involving Financial Institutions, such as Banks, Insurance companies, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, as well as sovereign entities. Obtain approval in a timely manner within the Credit Department.
- Proactively manage interactions and communication with marketing officers, gather necessary information to complete analyses, and discuss and agree on applicable conditions and instructions.
- Attend meetings with marketing officers, articulate risk perception and appetite for transactions or counterparties in line with bank policies and procedures.
- Maintain active collaboration with front office deal teams to ensure delivery to clients, including internal approval processes.
- Work collaboratively with other risk disciplines (market risk, operational risk, reputation risk) to ensure a comprehensive view of risk for counterparties, portfolios, or asset classes.
Qualifications of a Successful Credit Analyst:
- Experience in a credit management role within a major international bank.
- Experience conducting sovereign, bank, insurance, and asset management credit analyses in a structured manner, clearly identifying and articulating risk issues and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work independently, manage transaction deadlines actively, and escalate material issues to senior management promptly.
- Strong stakeholder partnership skills and the ability to influence senior management within the credit department and front office.
- Solid knowledge of corporate loans, trade finance, and derivative products, including relevant documentation and current market trends.
- Experience in front office or marketing roles and familiarity with key players in the corporate and trade finance markets is advantageous.
