Job summary

Horizon Leisure Centres in Waterlooville is seeking a friendly Crèche Assistant to support families using our centre’s facilities. You will create a safe, engaging environment for children aged 0–5 and provide reassuring help to parents.

The ideal candidate is energetic and outgoing; experience with children is desirable but not essential. An NVQ in Childcare (Level 2 or 3) and Paediatric First Aid are preferred; Enhanced DBS will be required.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment for the children.
• Ensure the safety of the children is never compromised; always follow safeguarding rules and raise any safety or safeguarding concerns to the Creche Team Leader.
• Supervise the arrival and departure of children from the Creche.
• Deliver excellent customer service, dealing politely with any comments, queries or complaints and escalating these as appropriate.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the Creche
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Creche Team Leader.

The ideal person will be energetic and outgoing, previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

As a Creche Assistant you will be responsible for providing children with a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment; providing parents with accessible childcare whilst they make use of our centre’s facilities.

Your Responsibilities?

• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment for the children.

• Ensure the safety of the children is never compromised; always follow safeguarding rules and raise any safety or safeguarding concerns to the Creche Team Leader.

This role will be based at Waterlooville but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
