Job Description:

Creative Technician: Design, Art & Photography
Kingswood, Bristol | Start: November 2025 (or sooner) | Permanent | Full-time or part-time considered

Bring creativity to life and help students do the same.

We’re looking for an organised, hands-on, and enthusiastic Technician to join a vibrant Creative Design Department and help bring ideas off the page and into the classroom.

Whether it’s preparing tools for a DT project, setting up a photo shoot, or helping clean up after a clay explosion, you’ll play a key role in making sure lessons run smoothly, safely, and creatively.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting teachers in DT, Art and Photography by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and keeping workspaces safe and ready to go

Helping students get the most out of practical sessions with the right kit, guidance, and encouragement

Managing stock and resources so everything is where it should be, when it needs to be

Championing safe working practices (COSHH, CLEAPSS) and staying on top of training

Being the go-to person for problem solving, fixing, and creating. It’s a varied and vital role

What we’re looking for:

- A love of design, art, photography, or all three
- Confidence working with tools, materials, and specialist equipment
- An organised mind and eye for detail
- GCSEs in English and Maths
- A proactive, friendly presence who’s great at working as part of a team
- Someone happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, whether it’s behind the scenes or alongside students in a session

Previous school experience is welcome but not essential. What matters is your practical mindset, creativity, and readiness to support learning.

What’s in it for you:

- A creative and welcoming team
- Term-time only hours for work-life balance
- Ongoing training and development
- A chance to play a key role in shaping students' confidence, creativity, and curiosity

Whether you’re an experienced technician or someone from a creative industry ready to move into education. We’d love to hear from you.
