Creative Technician: Design, Art & Photography
Kingswood, Bristol | Start: November 2025 (or sooner) | Permanent | Full-time or part-time considered
Bring creativity to life and help students do the same.
We’re looking for an organised, hands-on, and enthusiastic Technician to join a vibrant Creative Design Department and help bring ideas off the page and into the classroom.
Whether it’s preparing tools for a DT project, setting up a photo shoot, or helping clean up after a clay explosion, you’ll play a key role in making sure lessons run smoothly, safely, and creatively.
Supporting teachers in DT, Art and Photography by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and keeping workspaces safe and ready to go
Helping students get the most out of practical sessions with the right kit, guidance, and encouragement
Managing stock and resources so everything is where it should be, when it needs to be
Championing safe working practices (COSHH, CLEAPSS) and staying on top of training
Being the go-to person for problem solving, fixing, and creating. It’s a varied and vital role
- A love of design, art, photography, or all three
- Confidence working with tools, materials, and specialist equipment
- An organised mind and eye for detail
- GCSEs in English and Maths
- A proactive, friendly presence who’s great at working as part of a team
- Someone happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, whether it’s behind the scenes or alongside students in a session
Previous school experience is welcome but not essential. What matters is your practical mindset, creativity, and readiness to support learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
